Sunshine Julius
I couldn’t let the end of citrus season pass without sharing this Sunshine Julius recipe with you all. It’s such a refreshing and satisfying drink. Plus, the sun has been shining and the days have been warming up around here—making cold drinks a little more appealing.
If you want something super quick and with one less dish, skip the blender and make this a shaken drink. I actually prepare it this way often. It’s my go to after a long ski in the winter time!
Ingredients:
-6 oz milk of choice (for extra creaminess, use coconut milk or cream for an ounce or two of this)
-1 tsp Sunshine Golden Milk
-2 oz fresh squeezed orange juice
-1/4 tsp lightly packed orange zest
-1/4 tsp maple syrup or honey
-1/4 tsp vanilla extract
-pinch of sea salt
-generous pinch of cardamom powder
~1/2 cup of ice
Directions:
Add all ingredients to a blender and blend until no ice chunks remain. Depending on your blender, you may need a small one (like a Bullet or Ninja) if you’re doing just one serving. If you’re making this for a friend, sweetie or the whole family it’s easy to make this in a big batch and share, too! And, note, this recipe is definitely kid friendly.
